Lahore: As the number of positive cases surged to 952,907, Pakistan has reported 44 deaths from the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The death toll across the country jumped to 22,152 on Thursday.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 1,052 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of death toll and cases, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 10,700 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,392 in Sindh, 4,294 in KP, 775 in Islamabad, 576 in Azad Kashmir, 304 in Balochistan, and 111 in GB.
Furthermore 345,546 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 334,453 in Sindh, 137,484 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 82,502 in Islamabad, 26,893 in Balochistan, 20,121 in Azad Kashmir and 5,908 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
To date, Pakistan has performed 14,325,008 coronavirus tests and 45,924 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 897,834 patients and 2,029 patients are in critical condition.
