ROHRI: In the early hours of Sunday morning, nine bogies of the Karachi Express train bound for Lahore derailed near Sanghi Railway Station, killing at least one female passenger and injuring more than 40 others.
Rescue team and soldiers of Pakistan Army reached the place of incident. As per IG Railways, rescue operation has been completed and now officials are working to open the track for trains.
Officials said that unfortunate accident was caused because coupler failure. Meanwhile Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati has said that a report of the incident will be ready in 4 to 5 days and vowed strict action against those found guilty of negligence.
