Islamabad: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has passed a unanimous resolution requiring Israel to immediately cease hostilities against the Palestinians, which has a serious impact on the security of the region and other regions.
The resolution was passed at a virtual open-ended special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Islamic Conference hosted by Saudi Arabia.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi represented Pakistan at the meeting.
The resolution called for an immediate cessation of all Israeli violations, including disrespect for the Holy Land.
It rejected the current Israeli settlements and colonization of Palestinian land, including East Jerusalem, and the forced expulsion of Palestinians from their property.
Muslim countries call for the protection of Palestinians, medical personnel and emergency personnel so that they can carry out their work without obstacles.
The resolution emphasized the responsibility of the UN Security Council to act quickly to stop the brutal attacks on the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation in order to maintain international peace and security.
It reaffirmed the determination of the OIC countries to support the struggle of the Palestinians for their right to self-determination and adopted a two-state solution to establish an independent Palestinian state based in the Holy City.
The resolution called for the adoption of special international courts and United Nations agencies to take international legal actions to force Israel to compensate for damage to Palestinian infrastructure and public and private property.
