Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar said Saturday that no system can move forward without punishment and reward.
Usman Buzdar said in a statement that the Punjab government has carried out long-term reforms to the prison system to protect the basic rights of prisoners.
Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik and Additional Chief Secretary for Interior Momin Agha called on CM Punjab Usman Buzdar on Saturday. Usman Buzdar applauded the reforms brought in the Department of Prisons as well as the performance of the Punjab interior department.
In this regard, the Punjab CM stated that the Punjab Interior Department is given full freedom to effectively perform its duties.
He further stated that seven prisons in Punjab are building multi-storey barracks that can accommodate 10,000 prisoners.
