Narowal Sports City case: physical remand of Ahsan Iqbal extended by seven days

By

Islamabad: Accountability Court approved Monday by former Federal Minister and Senior Leader of Pakistani Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports City case Day of pre-trial detention.

At the hearing, the court ordered the investigators of the National Accountability Office (NAB) to complete the investigation as soon as possible because they will not be returned to PML-N leaders in the future.

On December 23, NAB Ahsan arrested Iqbal for alleged misappropriation of funds from the Narowal Sports City project.

The anti-corruption watchdog said Iqbal has illegally launched a project of 3 billion rupees in Narowal, causing billions of dollars of damage to state finances.

NAB claims to have received complaints that the construction costs of Narowal Sports City are around Rs 6 crore, which is against the rules.
