Islamabad: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice Javed Iqbal has said that NAB has chalked out an effective national anti-corruption strategy which resulted in excellent performance and recovery of Rs. 535 billion during the tenure of present management.
He said that Gilani and Gallup’s survey showed that 59% of Pakistanis trust NAB, which is sufficient evidence that NAB is fully accountable in accordance with the law.
Due to NAB’s active anti-corruption strategy, NAB’s overall conviction rate is about 66%, and it has made extraordinary achievements in investigating white-collar crimes worldwide.
In a statement on Sunday, he said that well-known countries and international organizations such as Pakistan Transparency International, World Economic Forum, Canadian Global Peace Organization, PILDAT, and Mishal Pakistan have praised NAB’s efforts to eliminate corruption, which proves The outstanding performance of NAB.
He said that despite the criticism, Kookmin Bank will continue to perform its official duties in accordance with the law and does not care about any threats or criticisms. He stated that in the new vitality, commitment and dedication in investigating and investigating untouchables, it will continue to act in accordance with the law.
The chairman stated that Kookmin Bank is ready and revitalized to eliminate all forms and manifestations of corruption.
He said that Kookmin Bank’s main focus is to crack down on cases involving corruption and corruption, money laundering, defrauding the public, deliberately defaulting on bank loans, abuse of power and misappropriation of state funds.
He said that Kookmin Bank firmly believes that eradicating corruption and recovering stolen money from corrupt elements are the top priority.
In order to make Pakistan free from corruption, the anti-corruption struggle is regarded as the National Bank’s belief in Pakistan without corruption. The chairperson said that NAB is a key organization in Pakistan under the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).
Pakistan has ratified and signed the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
Pakistan is the only country in the world where China has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to eradicate corruption, and Kookmin Bank is the chairman of the SAARC Anti-Corruption Forum.
This is a reorganization of NAB’s excellent work, because NAB is seen as a role model for SAARC countries. He said that compared with NAB’s previous years since its establishment and other anti-corruption organizations, the performance of all NAB regional bureaus in the past three years is still exemplary.
NAB has recovered the rupees. From October 2017 to June 2021, during the term of NAB’s current management, $535 billion. NAB filed 93 large-scale corruption cases out of a total of 179 large-scale corruption cases. These cases are being heard in various accountability courts, 10 of which are in the investigation stage, and many large-scale corruption cases are in the investigation stage.
The logical conclusion of large-scale corruption cases is NAB’s top priority. Of the 179 large-scale corruption cases, 66 have been dealt with in accordance with the law, and 1,273 NAB reference materials worth about 13 billion rupees are being tried in different accountability courts across the country.
