Lahore: On Friday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Marriuum Aurangzeb (Marriuum Aurangzeb) asked the current Pakistani government Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to fire the Lahore capital Police (CCPO) Umar Sheikh made a controversial statement about the highway gang rape.
When talking to the media, the leaders of PML-N said that the CCPO should be blamed, and the blame for the incident on the victims was just to hide their incompetence. CCPO Umar Sheikh expressed anger that the victim used Pakistan as France.
The CCPO accused the victim of leaving the house at midnight and changing to the highway instead of the GT highway when there was not enough fuel.
“The woman called her brother instead of police and her brother telephoned the motorway police at 130 to send a police mobile,” he told.
On the other hand, even though three days have passed, the security personnel still failed to arrest the suspect involved in the incident.
Authorities have shortlisted more than 70 people with criminal records, and their locations were also monitored when the incident occurred. Detectives are also hired to check the footprints collected from the crime scene.
Inam Ghani, the inspector general of Punjab province, said in a statement that traditional and advanced technologies are being used to investigate the case. He went on to say that there was a suspicious spot about 5 kilometers from the place of the incident.
