‘Maryam’s departure abroad will be final nail in narrative of accountability’s coffin’

By

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that the narrative of accountability has severely been damaged by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s departure abroad, the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) weak prosecution and the relief provided by courts.

Fawad Chaudhry said that if, in this case, Vice-President Maryam Nawaz of the Pakistani Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is allowed to travel abroad, it is the last coffin of accountability.

The federal minister also stated that if Maryam Nawaz leaves Pakistan without a bargain, all prisons in the country must be open.

Here Nawaz Sharif’s refusal to undergo the operation is mentioned and the operation was performed with his daughter Maryam Nawaz in London.

His personal doctor, Dr. Adnan said that cardiac intervention was a matter of life and death for Nawaz, so Mariam Nawaz must be with him. He said that because he planned to undergo surgery on January 30, this may not be beneficial for PML-N Supreme, but refused to do so because he had no daughter Maryam.

The doctor also said that the former prime minister had postponed his appointment for coronary interventions and said he could not undergo surgery until Maryam Nawaz arrived in London.
