Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) approved the bail of Khawaja Asif, the senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday.
Khawaja Asif contacted LHC on March 27 and stated that he was arrested by NAB on December 29 on the grounds that he had assets in excess of his income and was involved in money laundering.
He told the court that he had submitted the detailed information required by NAB and claimed that the anti-corruption watchdog did not share any records he submitted.
After hearing the arguments of the lawyers of both parties, the court approved PML-N’s Khawaja Asif’s bail request.
It is worth mentioning that NAB argued that Asif held iqama between 2004 and 2008, and added that his services as a consultant legal counsel earned a total of 136 million rupees.
