LHC approves Shehbaz’s plea to withdraw petitions seeking removal of name from blacklist

By

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday has approved Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif’s appeal to withdraw all the petitions seeking removal of his name from the blacklist.

At the hearing, Amjad Pervez, a lawyer for the PML-N leader, said that his client wanted to withdraw his petition. He told the government that the government has challenged the court’s instructions in the Supreme Court (SC).

The lawyer said that the court has an obligation to protect the rights of citizens. He added that the federal government hopes to get an answer in the blacklist case.

What I want to mention here is that the petition submitted by Azam Nazir Tarar and defense attorney Amjad Pervez on behalf of Shehbaz Sharif stated that due to the federal government, the name of the President of PML-N is now included in the ECL The petition to be withdrawn.

The development took place when the government did not allow Sheikh Bass Sharif to fly to the UK. Although he was granted a one-time permit for the Large Hadron Collider for medical reasons, the government did not allow him to do so. He again sought help from the High Court to enforce his ruling.
