LAHORE: Lahore High Court (IHC) on Thursday has allowed Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira to hold meeting with party’s co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari.
While hearing the petition filed by PPP’s Kaira, the court has permitted him to meet the ex-president on November 25.
It should be mentioned here that PPP lawyer and chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari failed to persuade Zardari to apply for bail in the case of the National Accountability Office (NAB).
Zardari said, “This is my case, I decided. Let’s see what the Pakistani Terry Inassaf (PTI) government will do to me now.”
Since then, senior PPP leaders have asked Bilawal to allow them to agree with the co-chairmen of the party requesting bail.
In addition, the PPP leadership has written a request for a private medical commission to investigate the former president.
The PPP application states that the doctor pointed to Zardari’s serious health problems and added that uncontrolled blood sugar levels could cause him problems. The application tells the doctor that he also advises getting help from a neurologist.
PPP says that getting good medical care is the basic and legal right of every prisoner.
On October 22, 2018, Zardari was taken from Adiala prison to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and treated in the VIP department of the cardiology department.
The former president complained about back pain, weakness and anxiety.
