Karachi: The Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, presided over the working group meeting and instructed officials to strictly implement standard operating procedures amid the sharp rise in the province’s coronavirus cases.
According to the health department, the positive rate of coronavirus cases in Karachi has exceeded 26%.
The Chief Minister said that there should be no politics for Covid-19. He said that no one should leave the house unnecessarily, and instructed the commissioner and IG Sindh to implement a comprehensive ban in Karachi after 6pm.
The Chief Minister of Sindh Province delivered a speech at the meeting saying that he already knew that the city’s tuition centers were still open and ordered them to be closed.
The situation of Corona in the city will be reviewed again on Friday. He added that if the situation does not improve, we will take further action.
The Chief Minister also established a provincial ministerial committee composed of Nasir Shah, Murtaza Wahab and Owais Shah to ensure the trust of stakeholders and political parties.
The meeting was informed that the province’s positive rate of coronavirus has reached 12.7%, while Karachi has reached 26.32%. In July, 362 patients died of corona. Sindh Hospital has 686 ICU beds with ventilation holes. The Chief Minister instructed the establishment of new crown wards in various hospitals.
The Minister of Agriculture of Sindh Province Ismail Rahu instructed the Chairman of the Market Committee and officials of the Ministry of Agriculture to implement the SOP.
At the same time, the Minister of Industry and Commerce Jam Ikramula Darijo said that due to the further increase in the number of new crown cases, they may be forced to implement a lockdown.
