K-Electric consumers likely to get relief in summer season

Islamabad: As NEPRA approved an additional 150MW of electricity from the National Grid to K-Electric, Karachi’s electricity users in summer and summer may be greatly relaxed.

According to the detailed information, the National Electricity Regulatory Agency (NEPRA) has decided to provide K-Electric with 150MW of additional power, for which it approved a tripartite agreement between CPPA, NTDC and K-Electric.

K-Electric will be provided 150MW of electricity from three wind power plants, with Tenaga, Zephyr and Hydro China power plants supplying 50MW each.

A statement issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) said that the federal government was already supplying 650MW of electricity to K-Electric from the national grid.
