Rahal: On Monday, the National Assembly and the opposition leader of Pakistan’s Opposition Party Nawaz (PML-N), Shehbaz Sharif called on the federal government not to procure sufficient doses of the coronavirus vaccine in time.
The PML-N president took to Twitter and said the experience over the last year has shown that the only way to overcome the virus is to vaccinate as many people as early as possible.
Shehbaz Sharif said it is criminal that the government did not take timely steps to buy vaccines in sufficient quantity, and the result is a surge in infections.
As we all know, Pakistan has reported 70 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours due to a surge in positive cases to 800,452. The death toll across the country jumped to 17,187 on Monday.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,825 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of the number of deaths and the number of cases, Punjab is still the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 7,990 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,599 in Sindh, 3,134 in KP, 665 in Islamabad, 462 in Azad Kashmir, 232 in Balochistan, and 105 in GB.
Furthermore 290,788 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 278,545 in Sindh, 114,077 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 73,450 in Islamabad, 21,743 in Balochistan, 16,591 in Azad Kashmir and 5,258 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 11,588,932 coronavirus tests and 50,161 in the last 24 hours. 694,046 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,862 patients are in critical condition.
