Islands Development Authority Ordinance challenged in SHC

By

Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) challenged the Presidential Regulations of the Pakistan Island Development Authority.

While hearing the petition, the court issued a notice to the federal, Sindh provincial government and other agencies on October 23.

The petitioner argued at the hearing that the presidential decree is illegal and any amendment requires a two-thirds majority. He said that the court should declare the decree invalid because the Sindh provincial government has power over the issue after the 18th amendment to the Constitution.

What I want to mention here is that the Sindh provincial government has rejected the decree of the Islands Development Authority. Provincial Minister of Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah (Nasir Hussain Shah) said that the Sindh provincial government will not accept any decrees regarding the islands of Sindh, and the government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab (Murtaza Wahab) Said that these islands belong only to the fishermen who live on them.

Nasir Shah said that the cabinet also unanimously rejected illegal and unconstitutional presidential orders because the islands belong to Sindh.
