Dubai: Iraqi security forces said they destroyed three Daesh vehicles in the Ar-Rutbah desert, state news agency INA reported.
The security forces media also confiscated weapons, booby-trapped devices and destroyed many camps.
The operation was initiated after two Iraqi force aircraft discovered three armed vehicles during a surveillance operation.
The report added that one of them caused minor damage by shooting at the aircraft.
Iraq said last week that they have captured the leader of Da’esh Abdul Nasser Qardash, who is considered to be the former prime minister of the terrorist organization Abu Bakr Baghdadi Al-Baghdadi) ‘s successor.
INA said that he had served as the head of a committee of the terrorist organization, and led Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi before leading the group.
