Iran calls on US to ‘stop violence’ against its people


Tehran: The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the United States on Monday to hold protests across the country after the death of black African American George Floyd to “stop violence against his own people”.

Spokesperson Abbas Mousavi said at a news conference in Tehran: “To the American people: the world hears your strong protest against the state of oppression. The world is with you.”

He told reporters in English: “To American officials and police: stop violence against people and let them breathe.”
