Islamabad: The Inter-Provincial Conference of Ministers of Education (IPEMC) decided on Wednesday to reopen educational institutions across the country from August 2 in accordance with strict COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
The meeting was presided over by Asif Haider, Acting Federal Minister of Education and Vocational Training, and the Provincial Minister of Education also participated in the meeting via video link.
It was unanimously decided that the board examination will continue according to the given timetable.
The forum also decided not to extend the summer vacation.
The meeting participants agreed that the decision to reopen educational institutions will be made by the provinces based on the COVID-19 situation.
It is worth mentioning that the Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood and the provincial education ministers of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are visiting the UK to participate in the 2021 global education Summit.
