New York: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi reiterated Pakistan’s desire to establish an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
When he met with UN press representatives in New York, he emphasized that the international community should not abandon Afghanistan.
He said that a peaceful Afghanistan will become a stable cause for the entire region.
He said that Pakistan fully assisted in the evacuation of foreign nationals from Afghanistan.
The foreign minister said that despite limited resources, Pakistan has been hosting 3 million Afghan refugees in the past four years.
Regarding the situation of India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, Shah Mahmoud Qureshi stated that the situation there was further complicated by India’s unilateral and illegal steps on August 5, 2019.
He called on India to stop atrocities against the oppressed people of Kashmir. He pointed out that there are voices in India that oppose the Hindu policy of the Modi government.
