Inter-provincial, inter-city transport resumes in Pakistan

Islamabad: After about a week of interruption, the country has resumed inter-provincial, inter-city and intra-city traffic, with a passenger share of 50%.

According to detailed information, the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) also allows the railway to maintain its operations with a 70% occupancy rate.

Regarding business hours, NCOC allows markets and shops to be open from May 17 (Monday) until 8:00 pm.

It also allows the office to work normally from May 17, and 50% of the conditions for working from home will continue to be enforced.

On the other hand, Pakistan reported 76 new coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, as the number of positive cases soared to 877,130. On Sunday, the death toll across the country jumped to 19,543.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), in the past 24 hours, 2,379 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 9,367 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,794 in Sindh, 3,766 in KP, 731 in Islamabad, 514 in Azad Kashmir, 264 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.

Furthermore 325,662 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 298,078 in Sindh, 126,787 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 79,123 in Islamabad, 23,831 in Balochistan, 18,231 in Azad Kashmir and 5,418 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
