Inflation was increased to overcome crises: PM Imran

Lahore: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, while revealing the reason behind hike in inflation, said that it was increased to control the crises that were inherited from the previous governments to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

While addressing a ceremony after laying foundation stone of the central business district project in Lahore, the PM expressed his confidence that this plan will help generate 6000 billion rupees.

In the first phase, he said this project will generate 1300 billion rupees and the federal government will get 250 billion rupees in taxes.

Imran Khan said that when he took charge as the PM, Pakistan’s economy was in horrible condition due to loans. However, the current account surplus remained during the first six months of current fiscal year, he expressed.

The PM said that PTI government has signed a liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreement with Qatar today to save 300 million dollars.

When talking about the Naya Pakistan housing project, the Prime Minister said that it will provide affordable housing for the salaried and laborers.

What I want to mention here is that Prime Minister Imran Khan has arrived in Lahore for a one-day visit, and he will chair different meetings.

Later, the Prime Minister also met with Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar and listened to briefings on provincial administration and other matters.
