India used US company’s tech to spy on Pakistan, China: report

Lahore: According to Forbes, the technology of an American company was abused by the Indian government because some people warned that Americans are contributing to a spyware industry that has already been criticized for losing control.

Texas-based Exodus Intelligence believes that India uses its “zero-day” security vulnerabilities, and hackers can use these security vulnerabilities to attack systems and monitor Pakistan and China.

37-year-old Exodus CEO and cofounder Logan Brown said that after an investigation, he believes India handpicked one of the Windows vulnerabilities from the feed—allowing deep access to Microsoft’s operating system—and Indian government personnel or a contractor adapted it for malicious means.

Brown said that India subsequently stopped purchasing new zero-day studies from his company in April.
