Islamabad: The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Chowdhury Fawad Hussein, said on Tuesday that the Hudaybiya Paper Mill case was a fraud involving Rs 12,420 crore, which was a bigger scam than the Panama leak case.
The minister stated in a series of posts on the social networking site Twitter that even after a detailed investigation, there was no trial of the case. According to the Panama oil spill, the judge who has ordered the case to be closed owns foreign assets. He added that no investigation has been launched against him either.
Fawad Chaudhry further told that some new facts have been surfaced in Hudaibiya case due to which, it has been decided to launch new inquiry. We hope that the court will now also bring the judge, who facilitated the Sharif family, to the justice, he asserted.
The minister also urged national institutions to play a role, because Pakistan’s future is closely related to the supremacy of the law.
Earlier, Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said the federal government had decided a fresh probe into the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case, adding that the legal team gave a detailed briefing to Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the cases of PML-N president Mian Shehbaz Sharif.
He said that the government decided to conduct a new investigation into the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case, and therefore, the relevant agencies were required to restart the investigation.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the Hudaibiya case is the most important source of corruption in the Sharif family.
