Lahore: Today and Thursday , across Pakistan, people observed Chehlum with religious enthusiasm in memory of Hazarat Imam Hussein (RA) A 40-day period of mourning was held during the Battle of Karbala.
In many cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Quetta, strict security measures have been established and implemented.
Law enforcement and local administrations have made special arrangements for citizens’ facilities and safety, including the deployment of a large number of police officers, suspension of mobile phone services, and prohibition of riding in cars.
Thousands of mourners participated in the mourning processions in major cities.
Traffic police have been instructed to develop alternative route plans for the public to ensure smooth traffic on city roads during the parade. All trails and paths leading to the Chehlum parade route are blocked to prevent unnecessary entry.
Pedestrian bridges have been installed at several entrances of the Chehlum parade, and the parade will be monitored by CCTV cameras.
At the same time, standard operating procedures (SOP) have been implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
