Islamabad: Federal Health Minister Dr. Zafar Mirza said on Tuesday that he hopes that the government will end the further spread of the coronavirus pandemic as soon as possible with the participation of the people and gradually take strict measures to that end.
He said no national blockade was observed because the availability of all daily items was guaranteed.
He said the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), the front line, is taking immediate action on the ministry’s proposals and recommendations to ensure the availability of all necessary medicines and medical equipment.
The Special Assistant thanked all Pakistanis living at home and abroad for their generous contributions and informed him that a contact point would be designated in this regard to provide first-hand information.
Dr. Zafar Mirza also told the government that the government is developing a national plan with training for 5,000 medical professionals and national volunteers to effectively handle such cases in the future.
The minister has notified the latest COVID-19 cases across the country. There are currently 892 confirmed COVID-19 cases, an increase from 89 cases in the past 24 hours and 7,736 suspected cases in the past 24 years, 1,265 of which were new cases. He told us that the number of patients with coronavirus in Balochistan province was 110, Sindh 399, KP 38, AJK 01, GB 80, Punjab 259 and Islamabad15.
He also told us that in confirmed cases the proportion of men and women was 37% and 63%, respectively. He added that 4,788 people are currently isolated across the country.
