Islamabad: The government has decided to provide digital banking services to Pakistanis overseas for the first time in the country’s history.
Under the new facility, overseas Pakistanis will be able to directly make bank payments and investments. In this regard, consultations have been conducted with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and other commercial banks.
The facility will also enable users to benefit from the bank’s fixed deposit products and direct transactions to purchase residential and commercial properties.
Overseas Pakistanis can choose to open an account in Pakistani rupee or foreign currency, or withdraw their investment without prior notice.
