Islamabad: Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Poverty Reduction and Social Security, said on Tuesday that the government will support all sectors of society to address the challenges of the corona virus.
In a Pakistani radio program, she expressed her belief that Pakistan would shake off this challenge and the ensuing economic crisis.
The special assistant said the Ehasas Emergency Cash program will be launched during this difficult time to support 12 million families in need. In the first phase, Rs 150 crore is allocated to the plan and each family receives Rs 12,000.
She said text codes will be issued today or tomorrow to enable families in need to apply for the program and receive cash aid from banks.
Sania Nishtar promises to ensure the transparency of the cash plan. She said that those who received cash assistance under the Ehsaas Kafalat and BISP schemes would also jointly pay Rs 12,000 over four months.
Dr. Sania Nishtar said that the Ehsaas ration donation coordination platform will be launched and that it will connect people wishing to donate rations to those in need.
In response to a question, the special assistant said that every effort was made to provide medical facilities in health facilities.
