PESHAWAR: Government officers are openly involved in taking bribery at Transit Office of TorKham border connecting Pakistan with Afghanistan.
As per details, the government officers while not fulfilling their duties have endangered national security. The officials are taking bribery at the border and filling their pockets with illegal money.
Citizens have protested against corrupts and demanded legal action for doing the malpractices.
Advisor to CM KPK on tribal affairs Ajmal Wazir said PTI government stands committed to root out menace of bribery. He said strict action would be taken against the corrupts.
Tor Kham border has been opened for the whole day to increase the volume of Pak Afghan transit trade. About 6000 vehicles cross border each day now and trade is expected to rise to $100 million annually from $70 million.
However the black sheep in the government departments are hampering the process of economic development and should be dealt with iron hands.
