Karachi: Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said the government is for the first time introducing a modern transport system in Karachi.
On Sunday, he attended the arrival ceremony of the first 40 Green Line project buses in Karachi.
The minister said that 40 buses for the Green Line project will arrive in Karachi next month.
He said these buses will start commercial operations within two months.
Assad Omar said that 54 kilometers of roads are being built in Karachi and the Karachi Circular Railway will soon be approved.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said the Green Line bus service will provide the best transport facilities to the people of Karachi.
Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Amin-ul-Haque on the occasion said the federal government is working on various welfare projects for the people of Karachi.
