Islamabad: Federal government on Tuesday decided to give five holidays to all public and private employees on Eidul Fitr.
The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry in a press conference held after a meeting of the federal cabinet.
It is pertinent to mention here that the National Command Operation Center (NCOC) had proposed the government to announce week-long Eid holidays starting May 10 to May 16, in wake of the rapid surge in coronavirus cases across the country.
The one-week holiday proposal has been sent to the Ministry of the Interior. The ministry will make a decision and then send its proposal to the Federal Cabinet for final decision.
