ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on Tuesday is considering various options regarding the removal of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
According to sources, a federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan failed to complete the decision to remove the former Prime Minister’s name from the ECL.
The federal government is considering the possibility of submitting a down payment to allow PML-N supremo to travel abroad.
Earlier, the second round of the federal cabinet subcommittee meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Farogh Naseem to discuss the former Prime Minister and Prime Minister of the Pakistani Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif (Nawaz) The name of Sharif is removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The members of the subcommittee expressed great anger about the accountability officer and asked them to clarify their positions after consulting the “competent authorities”.
As you know, the subcommittee prepares its recommendations for this session and forwards them to the federal cabinet, with the final decision of the federal cabinet headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
It is understood that notifications of subcommittee meetings have been sent to all parties, including National Assembly opposition leaders and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab’s Health Minister and the Medical Council to ensure that they the necessary file.
During the meeting, PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar, on behalf of party chairman Shehbaz Sharif, submitted a request to remove the name of Nawaz Sharif from the ECL.
Earlier Monday, the National Accountability Office (NAB) stated that the government itself should consider excluding the name of Ewax Sharif from the ECL. The anti-corruption inspection sent the case back to the Ministry of the Interior after having sent the medical report of the PML-N Supreme Leader to NAB.
Nawaz Sharif plans to fly to the UK with Qatar Airways QR629 yesterday. However, because the authorities did not remove his name from the ECL, his ticket was canceled.
