Paris: Since the pandemic started, 700,000 new coronaviruses have been officially announced worldwide.
In 183 countries and regions, there are at least 715,204 cases, including 33,568 deaths.
These are reported notably in the United States, with 143,025 and 2,514 deaths, and in Italy with 97,689, the highest number of deaths in the world at 10,779.
China, which first appeared in December, recorded 81,470 cases and 3,304 deaths.
These numbers make up onaly a small fraction of the number of infections, as many countries only detect suspicious cases when they are hospitalized or have severe symptoms.
