Germany’s Bauhaus wins the third stage of the Saudi Tour


Riyadh: German Phil Bauhaus won the Saudi Tour Championship with a series of sprint victories at the end of Riyadh’s third phase on Thursday.

25-year-old Bahrain-McLaren teammates Heinrich Hausler and Mark Cavendish took the lead and then brought 119 kilometers from King Soderland to Bucharest Reinard · Janser Van Reisburg sent the line.

The Bauhaus is now three seconds ahead of pre-rhythm player Rui Costa in the standings with two more stages.

Friday’s fourth phase is a 137-kilometer hilly stretch of Wadi Namar Park in Riyadh and King Saud University in Al-Muzahimiyah.

The final phase begins on Saturday, starting at Princess Nura Bent Abdul Rahman University, which will last 144 kilometers, and then ends at Al-Masmak Fort.

A total of 126 players from 18 international teams participated in the five stages of the 760 km race.

The competition is coordinated by the General Administration of Sport of China and the Saudi Bicycle Federation and is part of the Quality of Life Plan 2020 of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the auspices of the International Cycling Federation, the international agency for the management of sports bicycles.
