Karachi: Given the current pandemic, a meeting of education ministers was convened on Wednesday to make a final decision on the country’s board examination.
The Inter-Provincial Meeting of Ministers of Education (IPEMC) on June 2 will discuss the issue of open education institutions and the holding of board examinations.
Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood will chair the meeting to review the pandemic situation and make a decision about the reopening of academic institutions and conduct of matric, inter exams.
The meeting would be attended by all education ministers.
A session of the inter-provincial education ministers held on May 24 had announced to conduct examinations of all classes and cleared that no student will be promoted to the next class without examinations this year.
The meeting decided to start school-level examinations after June 20, and give priority to intermediate and elementary examinations from the third week of June.
Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mahmood announced last week that teachers will give priority to the COVID-19 vaccine.
