Federal Cabinet to discuss coronavirus situation today


Islamabad: The Federal Cabinet will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

According to the details, cabinet members will discuss the country’s overall political and economic situation.

The meeting will also review the situation of COVID-19, especially after the restrictions are relaxed.

It should be mentioned here that as the number of deaths nationwide jumped to 939 and the number of positive cases surged to 43,966, Pakistan confirmed 36 new coronavirus deaths within a day.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 1,841 people have been tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.

Sindh remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

So far, in Punjab, 17241 in Sind, 6230 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2820 in Baluchistan, 1034 in Islamabad, 550 in Gilgit-Balstan, 115 in Azd Kashmir 15976 cases of coronavirus were diagnosed.

The quarantine centers of 462 hospitals are providing treatment for patients, where 7,295 beds can be provided.

Pakistan has so far conducted 400,292 coronavirus tests and 12,957 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 12,489 coronavirus patients, and many patients are in critical condition.
