Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to make major reforms to the federal cabinet to remove some ministers from the post, and some ministers were appointed to different ministries.
In the aftermath of the research report on the sugar crisis, the federal cabinet has undergone major adjustments. Khusro Bakhtiar, the minister of the Federal Ministry of Food Security and Research, has resigned from his ministry and Hashim Popalzai, secretary of food security, has been fired. Samiullah Chaudhry previously resigned as provincial food minister after meeting Sardar Usman Buzdar, prime minister of Punjab.
Shehzad Arbab, the adviser who founded the prime minister, has been removed. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s resignation has been approved and MQM’s Amin ul Haq has replaced him as an IT minister.
Fakhar Imam was appointed as the Federal Minister for Food Security and Babar Awan was appointed as the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs. Azam Sawati was appointed as the Minister of Drug Control
Hammad Azhar was appointed Minister of Industry and Production, while Abdul Razzaq Dawood was relieved of his duties as Industry and Production Adviser and Chairman of the Sugar Advisory Board.
