Lahore: With an aim to keep Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on same page, head of the opposition alliance Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz and Opposition Leader of Punjab Hamza Shehbaz in Jati Umra.
Specifically, the head of JUI-F is meeting with PML-N leaders to discuss future strategies for the Long March and parliamentary resignation.
The PDM has postponed the Long March indefinitely after the main member of the coalition, the Pakistan People’s Party, refused to resign from the parliament and emphasized the need to continue its movement within the parliament.
Fazlur Rehman stated that all parties except the PPP agreed to resign from Parliament. He said that public-private partnerships seek more time for consultations.
PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had said that be it long march or no-confidence motion against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif must return to Pakistan.
“This is not the first time that the democratic forces have encountered rigging,” he said and added he had spent 14 years of his life in jail.
