ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and technology Fawad Chaudhry has on Saturday submitted a privilege motion against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif for misrepresentation of the truth on the floor of the House.
The leader of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) insisted that the Khawaja Asif movement amounted to violating the privileges of the entire House of Representatives.
Fawad Chaudhry said that on November 14, 2019, Khawaja Asif quoted representatives from the federal government and the Punjab government: “Let Nawaz Sharif die.” This is a vivid distortion of the facts and decision of the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The temporary bail obtained by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for medical reasons.
“Paragraph 2 of the Islamabad High Court’s detailed judgment stated that” the representative of the Prime Minister of Punjab and the Prime Minister did not object to the admissibility of the temporary bail of Nawaz Sharif, “the statement of Hawaja Mohamed Asif completely denied. he did on the floor of the Lower House clearly violated the privileges of the entire Lower House.
“It should therefore be discussed and forwarded to the Standing Committee for Rules of Procedure for further action.”
