Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhary has said responsibility rests with every Muslim to thwart efforts aimed at fanning violence and extremism in the country.
He said in a tweet on Thursday that extremist organizations like Tehreek-e-Labaik want to change the identity of Islam. He said that the strong foundation of Islam was laid by the Sufi saints on the subcontinent through their cordial, sincere and respectful messages of humanity.
Fawad Chaudhry had on Wednesday tweeted that the elements involved in torturing personnel of police and other agencies will be taken to the task. He said difference of opinion is welcomed in democracy, but nobody will be allowed to blackmail the government on gunpoint.
The minister said, police and security agencies are our pride and people clad in uniform are considered a symbol of pride of a state in the entire world. He said it is obligation for every citizen to respect and honor them. He said those, who violated this principle are criminals.
Fawad Chaudhry said that traffic on all important roads in Pakistan is unimpeded.
