The Meteorological Department on Tuesday said Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be observed in the country on Friday, as there are “no chances” of the moon being sighted on Wednesday.
If the moon is not sighted on Wednesday — Ramadan 29 — then the holy month would be observed for 30 days, and the festival of Eid would be celebrated on May 14 — Friday.
The meeting will say that Shawwal’s new moon will be born at the intersection of “12-05-2021 PST 00-01”.
According to astronomical parameters, on the evening of May 12th-Ramadan 29th, there is no chance to see the Shawwal Crescent at 1442 AH.
The Metropolitan Department stated that the weather in most parts of the country is expected to be sunny/partly cloudy.
