Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released a timetable for by-elections for the vacant seats in the Sindh parliamentary district PS-52-Umerkot.
According to ECP, the voting for the PS-52-Umerkot by-election will be held on January 18. Before that, the announcement of all various development projects in the constituency will be suspended.
The ECP also prohibits federal ministers, provincial ministers and members of parliament from visiting electoral districts related to by-election activities. According to the instructions of the European Communist Party, the Sindh provincial government shall not appoint or transfer any officials in the electoral district before the by-election.
Former Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam and Amir Ali Shah of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are competing for the PS-52-Umerkot seat, which was due to the PPP’s MPA Ali Mardan Shah passed away and was vacant.
