Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan Sunday said the province has achieved yet another feat as Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has accorded approval to two very vital projects for KP including Khyber Pass Economic Corridor and Swat Motorway Phase-2.
He said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Federal Government and Prime Minister Imran Khan for approving two very important projects in the province.
The Chief Minister said that the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor project will be built with financial support from the World Bank, estimated to cost US$460 million.
He said that under this project, a four-lane road from Peshawar to Kaibo Mountain Pass will be 48 kilometers long. The project also includes the establishment of the marble industry state and the development of large and small industries in the region.
CM believes that the project will help more than 100,000 employees and greatly promote North Afghanistan trade activities. He said that the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor will also make it possible for people to enter Central Asian countries.
Under the special police highway project, CM spoke four lanes; an 80-kilometer highway will be built from Chakdala to Fatehpur, and the project has been added to not only benefit the people of Malagan, but also benefit all parts of the country The people, especially the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, have also proved their worth.
The project will become a milestone in promoting tourism, trade and industrial activities in the province. He said that in the current emergency, the approval of two such important projects is a huge achievement for KP, and it is indeed good news for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
