Islamabad:A powerful 4.4 magnitude earthquake rattled Pakistan’s capital and other cities across the country on Thursday, causing panic among people but with no immediate reports of casualties or major damages.
The earthquake affected the cities and towns of Islamabad, Muri, Swat, Batgram, Malakand, Azad Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Mansela, Abbottabad, Laiya, and Nilem Valley.
However, no casualties were reported initially.
When the building shook, frightened residents fled their homes and offices. Television footage showed people praying in public.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Mingora area of Swat, and the epicenter was 20 kilometers below the surface.
