Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan resigns as Punjab CM’s aide


Lahore: Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Punjab, has offered to resign from this position.

Dr. Awan directly sent his resignation letter to CM Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, who has officially accepted his resignation.

“Chief Minister has been pleased to accept the enclosed resignation tendered by Ms Firdous Ashiq Awan from the office of Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information. Further necessary action may be taken accordingly,” a statement issued by CM Punjab’s Office read.

Prior to serving as CM Punjab’s assistant, Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed Dr. Ferdus as the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Information and Broadcasting in April 2019. She replaced Fawad Chowdhury, who was then Minister of Science and Broadcasting. Technology.

Dr. Awan started her mainstream political career in 2002, when she became a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan with a reserved seat of PML (Q) votes. Before joining PTI in 2017, she was re-elected as a PPP member in 2008.
