Defendants should expend energy on their cases instead of targeting NAB: Chairman Javed Iqbal


LAHORE: Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that NAB is committed to making Pakistan corruption-free and advised the alleged offenders to expend all their energies on defending themselves in the references instead of criticizing NAB.

Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that 1230 corruption references, worth Rs 947 billion, are currently pending in the accountability courts.

He said that the petition will be submitted to the accountability court so that these cases can be heard quickly and will be determined as a logical conclusion in accordance with the law.

The statement further stated that the National Bank is committed to protecting the country from corruption and has so far recovered 714 billion rupees.
