COVID-19 cases in Pakistan pass China’s with tally of 85,264


Lahore:  The coronavirus cases in Pakistan have passed China’s with a tally of 85,264 along with 82 fatalities in one day. The nationwide count of casualties has jumped to 1,770.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,688 people were tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.

Sindh remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

To date, Sindh has confirmed 32,910 cases of coronavirus, 31,104 cases in Punjab, 11,373 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,224 cases in Balochistan, 3,544 cases in Islamabad, and 824 cases in Gilgit-Balstan , 285 cases in Azd Kashmir.

In addition, 607 people died of the epidemic in Punjab, 555 in Sindh province, 500 in KP, 51 in Baluchistan, 38 in Islamabad, and 12 in GB.

The quarantine centers of 462 hospitals are providing treatment for patients, where 7,295 beds can be provided.

So far, Pakistan has conducted 615,511 coronavirus tests and 20,167 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 30,128 coronavirus patients, but many patients are in critical condition.
