Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday extended the bail of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in a case involving the appointment of the PSO managing director.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi appeared in court during the hearing. The court expressed anger at the absence of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials and lawyers, and said that the former prime minister had come from Islamabad to attend the hearing, but officials from the anti-corruption inspector did not come.
The High Court extended the bail period for the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and postponed the hearing to September 3.
It is necessary to mention here that Abbas was accused of illegally hiring personnel during his tenure as oil minister during PML-N.
NAB claims that he illegally appointed the managing director and deputy managing director of the National Petroleum Corporation of Pakistan.
