Lahore: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said on Friday that 70% of delta viruses are present in Punjab.
The governor said at a press conference that the positive rate for the coronavirus in Lahore was reported to be 3.4%. She clarified that no corruption will be tolerated during the COVID-19 vaccination process.
On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 86 deaths from the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases has surged to 1,024,861. The national death toll has jumped to 23,295.
According to the latest data released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,537 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of death toll, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
So far, 11,019 people have died from the epidemic in Punjab, 5,947 in Sindh, 4,444 in KP, 799 in Islamabad, 622 in Azad Kashmir, 327 in Balochistan, and 137 in the United Kingdom.
In addition, Sindh has confirmed 377,231 cases of coronavirus, 355,483 in Punjab, 143,213 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 86,945 in Islamabad, 30,162 in Balochistan, 23,819 in Azad Kashmir and Gir Gitstan Province 8,008
To date, Pakistan has conducted 15,936,674 coronavirus tests and 58,203 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 938,843 patients and 3,117 patients are in critical condition.
