Islamabad: Pakistani troops were deployed in several provinces on Tuesday to assist civilian government in combating the deadly coronavirus.
To ensure that the population is protected from viruses, the army is, according to the details, in accordance with article 245 in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, Gilgit-Balstan and Afghanistan Azad Kashmir performs its duties.
On March 23, the federal government convened the Pakistan military to help respond to a coronavirus pandemic, as more than 850 confirmed cases have occurred in the country.
Earlier, at a news conference, the Director General of International Services Director Public Services, Barbar Itikhar, said that the Pakistani military has assisted the country to overcome the threat of the corona virus. He added that troops had been dispatched to assist civil matters.
ISPR’s Director General said the world saw our determination in the 2005 earthquake, floods and counter-terrorism, and pledged that the Pakistan military would support the country. He also announced that the Army Chief of Staff (COAS) will declare a monthly salary for the Corona Fund.
Major General Babar Iftikhar also appealed to the masses to fully cooperate with the government and Pakistan Army in this war against coronavirus and stressed that following preventive measures is a way to avoid the virus.
