Lahore: Pakistan has reported 74 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and positive cases have surged to 537,477. On Wednesday, the nationwide death toll jumped to 11,450.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 1,563 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of individual cases, Sindh is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
Till now 242,793 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 155,214 in Punjab 65,953 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 40,972 in Islamabad, 18,765 in Balochistan, 8,877 in Azad Kashmir and 4,903 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 4,646 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,925 in Sindh, 1,857 in KP, 469 in Islamabad, 258 in Azad Kashmir, 193 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 7,764,114 coronavirus tests and 41,285 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 492,207 coronavirus patients, while 2,165 patients are in critical condition.
